Nobuko's Technique

My acupuncture needling techniques generally use finer and thinner needles with shallow insertions. Therefore, most patients find my treatments to be relaxing and causing minimal discomfort. Patients are often even unaware that needles have been inserted.

I administer two types of treatments: "local" and "root" methods. Local treatments address symptomatic complaints. For acute problems local treatment is sufficient. Root treatments seek to address constitutional and structural issues. For chronic and complex conditions root treatments are needed to address their underlying issues and causes. Both local and root treatments are given at the same time. Japanese acupuncture promotes the body's self-healing process.

Why Japanese Acupuncture?

Why is Japanese acupuncture effective, you might ask. I spend a lot of time palpating and finding the exact location of points rather than just using the points in the textbook because everyone has a different body.

The best use of acupuncture points only becomes possible when knowledge of the points is matched by experience and sensitivity in the fingertips. Japanese Acupuncturists place a lot of weight on finding the exact location of "active points" for treatment.

This is why Japanese Acupuncture techniques are extremely effective without using deep needle insertions or strong stimulations.
